Where To Buy: Mac Stores & Counters, Mac Pro
Candy Yum Yum was first released in 2011 in the MAC Quite Cute Collection it sold out so quickly that later on Mac released it again and you can take a sigh of relief now since they decided to make this beautiful neon pink lipstick apart of their permanent line.
Candy Yum Yum isn't a lipstick for the faint of heart it's very bright. If actually wasn't on planning to buy this lipstick only because I love Mac's Show Orchid lipstick so much and I thought these two lipsticks would be very similar but believe me they are not the same at all. Show Orchid is still a very bold and bright lipstick but it has an iridescent to it and is a little bit darker. Candy Yum Yum is described as a "bright pink". You can't get a more neon pink then Candy Yum Yum, and it's a matte finish one of my favorite finishes.
Texture/Finish
This lipstick is a matte finish which is one of my favorite finishes, but you need to exfoliate and condition your lips before even thinking about applying this lipstick because it will accentuate dry skin. My lips are naturally very dry so this lipstick is not a lipstick I can just apply on the go it takes a lot of effort to wear this, but I'm not complaining it's more then worth it. I have been wearing this lipstick with Magenta lip liner from Mac. I fill in my entire lip with the lip liner and then I apply the lipstick and blend the two colors together, it's a lot more wearable that way. Since I do apply a lip balm under this lipstick my lips didn't feel dry at all.
Since this lipstick is very bright, it does tend to stain the lips. I usually use the Mac Cleanse Off Oil to remove any excess product on my lips.
Staying Power
I tend to only wear bold colorful lipsticks from Mac rather then the drugstore because Mac makes really great lipsticks that have fabulous staying power. I'm not a fan of reapplying bold colors. Since it is a matte finish it tends to be more of a drier formula so it doesn't rub off easily. This lipstick lasted a good five hours on my lips it would probably last longer if you don't eat or drink anything.
